Kevin Cummings has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Investors Bank since January, 2008, when he was also elected to the Board of Directors. He had served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from July 2003 to January 2008.
In recognition of his success in transforming Investors Bank into a growth company, Mr. Cummings received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 New Jersey Award. In addition, Investors Bank was named on Fortune's "Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies" list in 2012.
Prior to joining Investors Bank, Mr. Cummings had a 26-year career with the independent accounting firm of KPMG LLP, where he was an audit partner in the Financial Services practice in the New York office and lead partner on a major commercial banking client. He also worked in the New Jersey community bank practice for over 20 years serving clients such as Summit Bank, Valley National Bank, Provident Bank and Hudson City Bank.
Mr. Cummings received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1976 from Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vt. where he played basketball and baseball, and ended his basketball career as the school's all-time leading scorer. He received the Harry M. Fife Award for Excellence in Economics and Athletics. He continued his education at Rutgers University School of Business where he earned a Masters in Business Administration. He is also a certified public accountant.
Mr. Cummings serves on the Board Of Trustees of St. Peter's Prep, a Jesuit high school in Jersey City, N.J., and is the former Chair of the Board and current Trustee of the Summit Speech School, a Trustee of The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children, the Chair of the Board and member of the Executive Committee of the New Jersey Bankers Association. He is a board member of the Independent College Fund of New Jersey and a member of the Development Leadership Council of Morris Habitat for Humanity. He served as the Athletic Director of St. Theresa's of Avila and coached youth basketball in Summit, N.J. at the AAU.
Mr. Cummings and his wife of 31 years, Patricia, have four children and reside in Summit, N.J.
