Dr. Nicole Anderson Yanoso, assistant professor of history, unveiled her new book, The Irish and the American Presidency, at a recent book signing on campus.
As a doctoral candidate in the spring of 2015, Dr. Yanoso found that the Irish impact on American history was fascinating. Prior to her research, there had not been a comprehensive paper about the Irish and the American presidency since the birth of the nation.

An understanding of the past promotes full comprehension of the present and expectations for the future. The study of history affords students better analytic and reasoning skills, research abilities and tools for clear expression. Courses in History draw from both American and regional history, providing perspective on global events and an understanding of the human factors influencing them. Minors are available in both History and Political Science.
