Screaming Eagles cross country volunteers in St. Hubert's 5K-9 run

Morris Twp., N.J. – The College of Saint Elizabeth cross country team volunteered at the St. Hubert’s “Walk for You and Your Best Friend” 5K-9 run on Saturday morning. The race was held at Loantaka Park in Morris Township, N.J.

Senior Shannon Tipton was the bicycle guide that led the runners through race course from start to finish. The rest of the cross country team served as course directors assisted the participants with the race course to make sure accurate turns were taken, helped participants at certain street intersections, directed traffic and ensure safety of all runners, walkers, dogs and spectators.

After the race, 5K-9 run and walk awards were given to the top fundraisers, male/female, small and large dogs as well as numerous other prizes.  Participants and volunteers were able to adopt some dogs as pets after the race. Saint Elizabeth head coach Ashley Cappiello herself took home a puppy named Digger.
