CSE Swim Wins on Senior Day

The College of St. Elizabeth swim team defeated conference foe Cobleskill on Senior Day, 59-36 on Saturday.

In the first event, the relay team of Ashley Sicsko, Alexandra Budd, Jennifer Scully, and Veronica Lubsen won the 200 yard medley in a time of 2:11.54, to give the Eagles the first 7 points of the meet. In the 200 yard freestyle, Maria Corall and Jennifer Scully finished first and second, with times of 2:11.50 and 2:20.91, respectively. In the 4th event, Veronica Lubsen took first place in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 27.09.

During the first break, Ashley Sicsko was honored for Senior day. The Screaming Eagles Captain took home first place in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.07. She also added a second place finish in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:46.50. Jennifer Scully took home the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:10.03. Carleigh Gallardo took 2nd place in the same event, setting her personal best with a time of 1:18.97.

Corall continued her dominating swimming, winning the 100 yard freestyle in 58.62, beating out second place by over 8 seconds. She also closed out the meet by winning the 100 yard breaststroke in a time of 1:18.63.

The Screaming Eagles will head up to Cazenovia, New York on February 14th to take part in the NEAC Conference Championships.
