Best-selling author and television personality Dr. Mark Liponis will speak in the College of Saint Elizabeth Dolan Performance Hall, on April 9, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. Dr. Liponis, who is the medical director of Canyon Ranch Health Resorts, will be speaking about ultralongevity, and he will explore ways to live a long life without illness, disability, or loss of function. Following his lecture, there will be book sales and signing. He is the author of UltraLongevity: the Seven-Step Program for a Younger, Healthier You, and UltraPrevention: The Six-Week Plan That Will Make You Healthy for Life. Tickets for CSE students with valid student identification are free; for the public, $10 and $2 for non-CSE students with valid student identification. On April 10, Dr. Liponis will address the CSE community at 10 a.m. in Dolan Performance Hall, followed by a question and answer session, and a book sale and signing. At 1 p.m., he will do a second presentation, also in Dolan Performance Hall, to faculty and staff. Dr. Liponis’s appearance is in conjunction with the CSE Wellness Week, April 9, 2012, through April 14, 2012.
Dr. Liponis is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Medical School and is board certified in internal medicine. After surviving a bout of kidney cancer, he developed a special interest in nutrition, preventive and integrative medicine. At Canyon Ranch, he has set up programs in optimal living, weight loss, smoking cessation, and stress management.
