Information Systems Technology Recommendations

If you are bringing a desktop or laptop computer to the campus, the College recommends the following minimum specifications:Recommended Accessories:

Windows Operating Systems Machines

• Processor Speed: Minimum Processor: 2.0 GHz (Intel Core2 or better)
• Operating Systems: Windows 7 or higher
• Memory (RAM): 2 GB or higher
• Hard Drive: 160 GB or larger
• Networking: 10/100/1000 network interface card and a category 5e Ethernet cable or a wireless network interface card that supports 802.11 a/b/g/n
• Antivirus Software: Norton Antivirus, McAfee Antivirus or Avast (free version available)

Macintosh Machines

• Processor Speed: Intel Core2 at 2.0 GHz or better
• Operating Systems: OS X (10.8) - Mountain Lion
• Memory (RAM): 2 GB or higher
• Hard Drive: 160 GB or larger
• Networking: 10/100/1000 network interface card and a category 5e Ethernet cable or a wireless network interface card that supports 802.11 a/b/g/n
• Antivirus Software: Norton Antivirus or McAfee Antivirus

In addition to your computer, the College recommends these technology items:

• USB memory stick for transferring files
• Computer/Laptop locks for added security
• Headphones
