Assistant Director, Academic Skills Center - 10 Month Position

Job Description

The Assistant Director works with the Director of Student Development and the Office Coordinator to provide services for over 1500 undergraduate students, both on and off-site.  The Center provides tutoring in a variety of subjects (in-person and online), Supplemental Instruction (SI) for introductory math and science classes, college success workshops, and other services to students.  The Assistant Director oversees daily operations, including staffing and scheduling of tutors, manages the Center budget and payroll, works with other staff to plan and implement workshops and SI sessions, arranges for the training of tutors and other staff development, oversees math placement testing for incoming students, and works with staff to assess Center outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in English, Writing, or Math required.  Good organizational and communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse population required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in English, Writing, or Math is strongly preferred.
