The 2014 season was a rebuilding year for the Eagles. The season got off to a rough start before it even started, losing their coach just a week before the season started. Just days before the first match, the Eagles hired first year coach Eric Burop to take over the helm. Despite the renewed energy the team had, the Eagles got off to a rough start, losing their first 2 matches, 9-0.
In the third match of the season, the Eagles fell to CCNY, however the doubles team of Alexandra Budd and Chang Xu won the first point of the season for the Eagles, winning their match 8-6. After dropping the next 2 contests to fall to 0-5 on the season, the Eagles traveled to Cazenovia for a Sunday afternoon conference match. The Eagles won their first point of the match when the doubles team of Maame Quainoo and Chiamaka Nwangwu won their match 8-3. Quianoo, Nwangwu, and Stacy Tsultsmova also won their singles matches, giving the Eagles their first win of the season, 6-3.
The Eagles couldn't build off their victory, losing the final 4 matches of the season to finish the year with a 1-9 record. Despite a tough season, the Eagles are optimistic for the future. With the addition of a fall schedule next season, the Eagles will be poised to make a run at the NEAC Championships.
