Late Rally Not Enough as CSE Loses in Buffalo

The Screaming Eagles made a strong second half surge, but it was not enough as they fell to Medaille College 12-6 on Saturday.

Medaille College got on the board first, scoring a goal 5 minutes in to take a 1-0 lead. The Eagles managed to get 9 shots on goal in the first half, but couldn't get any into the net. Medaille kept up the pressure, adding 6 more goals before half and taking a 7-0 lead into the break.

Medaille started the second half just like the first half, scoring 3 straight goals to open up a 10-0 lead. Dana Mortensen finally got the Eagles on the board, scoring their first goal at the 18:04 mark. Amanda Inacio scored 2 quick goals to bring the Eagles to within 11-3. Nicole Rios wasted no time adding another goal for the Eagles, cutting the lead to 7. Kelly O'Dell and Chirstina Rios would add a goal a piece in the final minutes. Despite a strong second half, the Eagles dropped the contest 12-6.

The Eagles return to action on Tuesday when they host Purchase College at 4 pm.
