The College of Saint Elizabeth's lacrosse team earned their first victory of the season, defeating NEAC foe Lancaster Bible, 12-7 on Thursday.
Brianna Fedorich got the Eagles on the board just 12 seconds into the game, ripping a shot past Lancaster’s Goalie, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Kelly O’Dell and Christina Rios added a goal each just 2 minutes later, giving the Eagles an early 3-0 lead. Lancaster Bible added a goal shortly after, cutting CSE’s lead to 2. Kelly O'Dell answered right back, scoring back to back goals open the lead to 5-1. O'Dell and Fedorich would add another goal a piece, taking a 7-4 lead into the break.
The Chargers from Lancaster came out of the gate quickly in the second half, scoring a goal in just 10 seconds to cut the lead to 2. The Eagles would not give in however, scoring 3 straight goals thanks to O'Dell and the Rios twins. Sarah Briant was a star in the net in the second half, netting 11 of her 16 saves in the second half. The defense, lead by Briant, allowed just 3 goals in the second half. O'Dell and Nicole Rios would add another goal each as the Eagles defeated Lancaster Bible 12-7 on Thursday.
Kelly O'Dell finished with a career high 6 goals. Brianna Fedorich, Nicole Rios, and Christiana Rios all added 2 goals each. The Eagles return to action on Friday when they Host Keuka College at 4 pm.
