The Screaming Eagles jumped out early and never looked back, beating Penn St. Berks 85-68 on Wednesday night.
The Eagles got out to an early 14-11 lead behind Danesha Triplett. She once again dominated in the paint, tallying 6 of her 10 rebounds in the first half. Fresh off a 31 point game, Ashley Pledger dropped 24 points on 10-15 from the field. The Eagles defense played stellar throughout, causing 27 Penn St. Berks turnovers. The Eagles closed out the first half on an 8-2 run, to go up 49-37 at the break.
In the second half, the Eagles continued to play top notch defense. Kelly O’Dell posted her first triple-double of the season, finishing with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. She also had 5 of CSE’s 15 steals on the night. The Eagles continued their hot shooting in the second half, shooting 50% from the floor. While Penn St. Berks managed to keep the game close, the Eagles put together a quick 12-2 run to blow the game wide open at 76-56. The Screaming Eagles closed out the game strong, taking down Penn St. Berks 85-68.
The win marks the first conference win of the season for the Eagles. The Eagles return to action on Saturday when they travel to Penn State Abington at 1 P.M.
