MADISON, N.J. – Kristin King and Maria Corall finished in the top three in their individual events and relays as the Screaming Eagles finished in third place at the Ranger Invitational held at Drew University on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles competed against five other teams: Sarah Lawrence College, Drew University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Post University and the College of New Rochelle.
The Screaming Eagles (1-2) placed second in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:53.98. The relay included Shannon Tipton, Jennifer Scully, Veronica Lubsen and Corall. King had a first and second place finish. She came in second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:53.86 and finished first in the 200 yard backstroke. Corall had two second place individual finishes as well as first place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:43.99.
The Saint Elizabeth 400 freestyle relay and 200 medley relays finished in second place consisting of King, Corall, Scully and Lubsen. Shannon Tipton had two fourth place finishes in both the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:17.20 and the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:41.80.
Veronica Lubsen had a fifth and seventh place finish in the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. Mary McChesney and Ashley Sicsko finished in the top 10 in their individual events.
The Eagles finished off the meet with a first place finish in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:06.54. Saint Elizabeth fell short to Sarah Lawrence (246) and Drew (215) with 164 points.
The Eagles swim again against Notre Dame University of Maryland on Saturday, Dec. 8th at 1:00 p.m.
