Credit by Examination

The College of Saint Elizabeth accepts transfer credits achieved through successful passage of CLEP and DANTES academic subject exams.  For more information, please contact your Program of Study office.

A student with prior work experience that parallels the content of a course in the major program, as determined by the Program Chair, may file a Credit by Examination Application form.

Requirements

• Students must apply for examination prior to completing 50 percent of the credits required in the graduate program.
• Application must be approved by the end of the Add/Drop period in both fall/spring semesters.
• If approved by the Program Directors, students must complete a written examination or other required assessment instructions.
  
  

The assessment is comprehensive and is designed to establish that the student possesses the knowledge and skills acquired by a student completing the course with a final grade of A or B. The instructor of the course completes the evaluation of the student's work with a grade of Pass or Fail. The instructor notifies the Program Chair of the results of the examination. The Program Chair notifies the student.
