The pathways to a bachelor’s degree at CSE can be as different and varied as our students themselves, but they share some common characteristics. Learning is not a spectator sport at CSE—you’ll learn in small, engaging classes where your ideas matter and you’re expected to express them. Guiding these classes will be faculty who care deeply about their teaching, their fields of expertise, and your progress. And whether you choose to major in business or justice studies or biochemistry or anything else at CSE, your education will have a strong foundation in our Catholic, liberal arts tradition. That means you’ll grow both intellectually and ethically, opening your mind to new possibilities and your heart to a world that has much to gain from the skills and knowledge you bring to it.

Developing responsible leaders has been a priority at CSE since the College's earliest days. When CSE was founded, we were exclusively a college for women, and we sought to help women excel personally and professionally during an era that posted significant obstacles to women's advancement. The number of CSE graduates who have gone on to become leaders in business, education, law, medicine, the nonprofit sector, and other fields is testament to our success, and to the power of a CSE education.
That legacy of leadership stays with us today in the educational programs we offer for women and men. We cultivate leadership by offering an education that encourages students to take both initiative and responsibility. Student learn leadership through participation in student government, athletics, and other co-curricular activities.
Students in the Women's College benefit from participation in the Center for Leadership Development, which provides them with opportunities in and out of the classroom to develop strong leadership skills.
At all times, our focus is not simply on leadership, but on ethical leadership. Whether CSE graduates go on to run their own companies or heal the sick, our Catholic heritage compels us to prepare leaders with a strong moral compass, acting in ways that are socially responsible and show care for the well-being of others.
