  • Biography Reference Center (formerly Biographies Plus)
    Full text database providing coverage on a wide range of notable people, both contemporary and historic, with additional links to books and articles about these individuals.
  • Clara: Database of Women Artists
    Database from the National Museum of Women in the Arts provides key facts and accomplishments of major women artists along with a brief biography. Artists range from all nationalities from the 1580s to the present.

  • CAMIO (images)
    Digital collection of about 95,000 high-resolution reproductions for additional access to a wide range of images across cultures and throughout history. All content is rights-cleared for educational use in the classroom or to illustrate papers, web projects and other assignments.
  • Google Art Project (images)
    Extensive collection of high-quality digital images of over 37,000 artworks from major museums, searchable by artist, title, and collection. Brief commentaries and other information on the works are also provided.
  • ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global: The Arts
  • ProQuest Research Library: The Arts (articles)
    Multidisciplinary full text database with coverage of the visual arts, as well as theater, music, dance and film.


Books related to art and art history have call numbers in the 700s. Reference books are on the main floor in the Reference Room. All other art books are located on the upper floor, left side.
