Master Class for writers and artists with Featured Presenter, Mark Doty.
A poet, memoirist, essayist, professor, presenter, mentor will talk about the intersections and influences that the visual arts and writing have on each other in his own work.

5:30 – 6:30 p.m.


7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

Mark Doty Reading, Q&A, and Book Signing

Opening Reception for Compiled and Composed Exhibition
Artists will be available to discuss their work in the exhibit and any other questions or ideas about creating art from institute participants. This event will be open to the public; feel free to invite your family and friends. While not a sit-down meal, there will be plenty of food for dinner for institute participants.

Panel discussion on "Creating in the 21st Century" with Virginia Butera, Laura Winters, two artists from exhibition and two writers.
This event is also open to the public.

Picnic dinner and Theater on Campus with Moliere's comedy: The Learned Ladies performed in the outdoor Greek Theater by the NJ Shakespeare Theater Company. Details to follow.

Workshop: Presenters will work together to offer a combination of visual art and writing prompts so participants experience first-hand how each creative process informs and inspires the other.
