Professor Rocco Scary's "Book Arts" class discusses the benefit of studying Art at CSE while creating beautiful art!
The Art program is designed to develop the creativity and artistic skill in each student. Our classes are geared to train students in artistic innovation, practical studio arts, and creative technologies – all of which are essential for today's imaginative world. With an available minor in graphic design and access to the Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery on campus, both inspiration and practicality are in strong supply.
1. A focus on creative, conceptual, technical, looking and visual communication skills
2. Students are encouraged to make art in many different styles and materials
3. Professors are practicing and exhibiting artists, curators, writers and/or art historians
4. A dedicated computer lab tailored for image and multimedia manipulation
"When I first started in the major, I was stuck in my high school mindset of what art should be. CSE has helped my professional growth. In all of my classes, my professors provide the fundamentals that I need to learn as a student before I graduate."
