1989 Mother Xavier Award Recipient

Betty Ann graduated with a B.A. in English. From 1956-60 she worked as an advertising copywriter, then spent the next 12 years working as an editor for the Newark Evening News. She left to join the Herald News, where she was a reporter and editor for six years.

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture named her the Food Communicator of the Year in 1976.

Betty Ann became the Executive Director of CSE's Alumnae Association in 1978, a post she filled for the succeeding 20 years.

Betty Ann received the Mother Xavier Award in 1989 and the Distinguished Alumna Award in 1997.

"The ideals and values I learned from my parents were reinforced by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Philadelphia and at St. Elizabeth's. Those ideals and values have been the basis for living my life."
