Mary Chris received a B.S. degree in Chemistry, and seven years later she earned an M.B.A. at Seton Hall University.
While at CSE, she found working at, and then managing, the campus Rathskeller her most meaningful co-curricular activity. It was from that experience that she learned to accept high levels of responsibility and accountability while also learning real-world lessons about problem resolution, planning, management, and working within a larger organization.
From 1976-91, Mary Chris worked for Shulton, Inc. She did consumer-product research and development, creating personal-care products. Since 1991, she has been working for Colgate Palmolive, in its consumer-products Research and Development area, creating household cleaners and dish liquids. She is currently responsible for fragrances used in global household cleaners, dish products, and bleaches.
Mary Chris has been active in many parish activities, school-volunteer work, and Scouting activities. She has served on CSE's Alumnae Association Board of Directors, and she received the Mother Xavier Award in 1991. From CSE, Mary Chris acquired three things: "a sense that women can achieve, support for strong moral values, and many lifelong friendships."
